Abstract

The reliability of the network is significant for achieving effective communication in the network. The Quality of Service factors node's energy and queue size play vital role for establishing efficient routing in the network. These factors offer reliability in the network through robust and rapid transmission of data. Hence, in this paper these two factors are mainly considered for choosing the best forwarding neighbors during the transmission. Routing with more than one constraint is a NP-Complete problem and it does not have a polynomial solution. Thus, the efficient route construction based on multiple constraints can be achieved through any optimization technique. Fuzzy Logic is one of the optimization techniques for finding an optimum solution for multi constraint problem. The proposed work enhances the existing AODV protocol as Fuzzy-AODV by implementing Fuzzy Logic technique for choosing the best forwarding neighbors based on node's energy and queue size. The simulation analysis is performed using NS-2.The performance of the network is analyzed by considering themetrics such as packet delivery ratio, packet loss, end-to-end delay, throughput and routing overhead.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) has emerged as a recognized advancement in wireless technologies. Each node in the network may be either a vehicle or Road Side Unit (RSU) which has to be equipped with the necessary communication facility. Every vehicle in VANET must be authenticated to establish a reliable and secure network communication. The AODV routing protocol which is normally applied in a VANET scenario does not detect malicious vehicles, if it exist. In this paper, a security mechanism has been incorporated in the AODV protocol to strengthen it as Robust AODV (RAODV) to detect a malicious vehicle. Sample architecture with centralized control unit, RSUs and some vehicles is illustrated to demonstrate the added security feature. AODV routing protocol has been applied in a simulated environment using NS-2 package. Performance metrics such as Packet Delivery Ratio, End to End delay, Routing Overhead and Number of dropped packets, for various vehicle speed were analyzed with the RAODV protocol.

Abstract

Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a new wireless technology and it has the features of large area network coverage, Internet broadband access, self-healing, self-configuring and self-organizing. Routing is an important research issue in WMN. Many routing protocols are available in WMN. These protocols are divided into two categories proactive (Table Driven) and reactive (On-demand) protocols. This paper discusses the performance of proactive routing protocol Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) in WMN by considering the various performance metrics (packet delivery ratio, routing overhead and dropped packets) by varying transmission rate and mesh client speed.

Abstract

Web Mining is the extraction of interesting and potentially useful patterns and information from Web. It includes Web documents, hyperlinks between documents, and usage logs of web sites. The significant task for web mining can be listed out as Information Retrieval, Information Selection / Extraction, Generalization and Analysis. Web information retrieval tools consider only the text on pages and ignore information in the links. The goal of Web structure mining is to explore structural summary about web. Web structure mining focusing on link information is an important aspect of web data. This paper presents an overview of the PageRank, Improved Page Rank and its working functionality in web structure mining.

Abstract

The World-Wide Web provides every internet citizen with access to an abundance of information, but it becomes increasingly difficult to identify the relevant pieces of information. Research in web mining tries to address this problem by applying techniques from data mining and machine learning to web data and documents. Web content mining and web structure mining have important roles in identifying the relevant web page. Relevancy of web page denotes how well a retrieved web page or set of web pages meets the information need of the user. Page Rank, Weighted Page Rank and Hypertext Induced Topic Selection (HITS) are existing algorithms which considers only web structure mining. Vector Space Model (VSM), Cover Density Ranking (CDR), Okapi similarity measurement (Okapi) and Three-Level Scoring method (TLS) are some of existing relevancy score methods which consider only web content mining. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm, Weighted Page with Relevant Rank (WPRR) which is blend of both web content mining and web structure mining that demonstrates the relevancy of the page with respect to given query for two different case scenarios. It is shown that WPRR's performance is better than the existing algorithms.
